All good things must come to an end.
So, I have finally completely stopped breastfeeding my daughter. I was weaning her for the longest time, but she relied on breastfeeding to go to sleep (she is now learning to sleep on her own, yeah!) so, she would nurse about once/twice a day. It’s been two days. I feel okay about it, except my left breast (her preferred breast) is extremely sore; well, huge and sore. Oh, the pain we go through. I am sucking it up. I have read a bunch of stuff about quitting breastfeeding and the consequences on our breasts; I also called the La Leche League for some advice because I was in so much pain yesterday (they are very helpful by the way, and I would highly recommend calling one of their volunteers with any breastfeeding questions). I have decided to suck it up, apply cold/ice packs, and hope that I will stop producing milk soon.
If anyone has any advice on the topic, I would love to hear it.
