(From the Breadbar website) Let there be Bread! Breadbar bakes artisanal bread in the classic tradition of French breadcraft. Their breads and pastries are inspired by the French bakers of past centuries infused with contemporary American taste. “With our rigorously-crafted breads and pastries and our innovative bistro fare, BREADBAR marries tradition and innovation with a passion for good food.”
I eat at Breadbar when I feel like having something fresh-baked and I am always satisfied. You can find these bakeries in Los Angeles, in Century City. My favorite thing to get at Breadbar are the Wallstreets – these are almond flavored baked bready treats (somewhat reminiscent of madeleines) and they are delicious and incredibly addicting. I can never eat just one.
I contacted Breadbar sometime ago telling them how much I love the Wallstreets and they were kind enough to send me some Wallstreets along with a couple of products I had never tried before Kouighn Amann and Cannele (pictured below). At their recommendation I ate the Kouighn and Cannele warm, and they were delectable. These are good for breakfast, or anytime you feel like something sweet; they are especially good with coffee. They also make a great dessert.
If you are in Los Angeles and feel like something fresh-baked whether sweet or not, try Breadbar they have great offerings and based on their own description of the place, you can have an expectation of eating something good; and your expectation will be met.
Check out their website for locations, products, and additional information.
P.S. They also have great cocktails. I was in Century City at the Westfield mall, where this is a Breadbar and we stopped there for a drink (happy hour daily from 4 pm – 8 pm) drinks are 50% off.
