So, today was not a great shopping day for me.
To be honest, I don’t shop much these days. Not for myself anyway. Whenever I do shop, the clothing, hygeiene products, whatever, go to my wonderful munchkin, and I have no complaints about that.
I have, however, on a couple of occassions recently, gone shopping for skin care. My skin is something I refuse to let go; anti-aging, makeup, all of it is just very important to me. I try.
So, yesterday I had an event to go to in the evening and while my munchkin was napping peacefully in her stoller I decided to stop by Bloomingdale’s. I have loved that store, forever. Many of you might know that I moved to Los Angeles from New York. While in New York, Bloomingdale’s was my go to store, for everything. To this day I have a soft spot for it.
So, back to my story. Yesterday I stopped by a makeup counter that was having an in store event. Love those. Especially if I have to shop for some make up anyway; and I did have to. My visit was great, make up application was fab; I looked great for my event. No complaints there. My issue, I purchased more than I wanted. It happens. To everyone.
So, today I decided that I had to make a return. I went back to Bloomingdale’s and happened upon the rudest associate ever. She might have been having a bad day, but why would she allow that to interfere with her dealings with a customer (moi)? I have no idea. She was horrible. There is no other way to describe it. I have spent so much money at this store throughout the years that I just didn’t know what to do with the treatment that I received from this nasty associate.
I am not going into exactly what ensued, but suffice it to say, my return went anything but smoothly: from returning the products, to receiving credit and signing for the refund to my card. I am baffled. Seriously.
I reported this to the manager of another department, as my luck would have it the manager of the beauty department was not in the store at the time. The woman I spoke to was nice, and understanding she said I should be expecting a call from the beauty department manager tomorrow.
What shall I say? Any ideas?
