Fun Ways to Lose Weight
So many people dread working out and eating healthy that weight loss has turned into an evil being that everyone wants to avoid. There is so much stress put on running on a treadmill for an hour and drinking a protein shake that so many people feel this is the only way to lose weight. However, there are other, nontraditional, ways to lose weight and have some fun. No longer do you have to feel tied down to a machine at the gym when you can get creative and lose weight. The following are just a few ways to trim down and have some fun:
Dance- Whether it is at a night club, in your living room or at a studio, dancing offers a great way to burn calories. It does not matter if the type of dance you involve yourself in is choreographed or entirely improv, it is a great way to take off the pounds but still have fun. Plus, you get to enjoy your favorite music at the same time. Walk the Dog- Walking your dog or picking up an extra job as a dog walker is a great source of exercise. Let your dog motivate you to get fit, as dogs love going for walks you’ll find it hard to say no.
Exercise During Chores- While vacuuming, dusting and scrubbing the floor may burn calories you can always add more fun to the mundane. Try lunges while you vacuum or calf-raises while you wash the dishes. You will be surprised at how many more calories you can burn and how much faster your chores will go.
Take the Stairs- It may not really be fun to take the stairs, but it is a great way to burn a few extra calories and get where you are going. And, since you have destination in mind you will most likely forget you are exercising.
Play- If you have kids, then you should be enjoying them. Playing with your kids will not only trim your waistline, but will help you form an unbreakable bound with your kids. So, get outside and enjoy the swing set and maybe a game of tag.
Team Sports- Why workout alone, when you could do it with a team? Playing football, soccer and other team sports are a great way to lose weight and have some fun. And as an added bonus you may meet some new friends if you join a league or another organization that organizes team sports
