Yesterday my daughter turned 10 months; it seems like the time has gone by so quickly (it truly doesn’t feel like it was that long ago that we brought her home from the hospital). Although I must say that since then we have grown leaps and bounds as a family. I almost don’t remember everything that happened in the first few months, I just remember that the nights were long…

If you live in Los Angeles (yay me!) or New York, you can get a free manicure!
I don’t know if anyone who is reading this will agree, but I hope some of you will. I received a response to my previous post, about Mammas at the Academy Awards, indicating that celebrity moms look the way they do because they have personal trainers, nutritionists and stylists; that is true. However, I think that if we put in a little effort we can look good too.
So, I want to challenge moms who are reading this to do something nice for yourselves in the next couple of days. You don’t have to let me, or anyone else, know what it is if you don’t want to; although I would love to read about what people decide to do if you wish to share it.
Ralph’s has an amazing deal on some Beechnut foods @ 0.32 cents/jar! I saw 2nd Stage Green Beans, Pears, Applesauce, Apples and Blueberries; as well as a few of the Homestyle jars, I think those were selling @ 0.59 cents/jar (normally $1.19) I saw Green Beans and Potatoes and one or two of the fruit ones. Gerber 2nd Stage Rice Cereal jars were also on Closeout sale at 0.34 cents/jar! GRAB THEM WHILE YOU CAN. I’m not sure how long this sale will go on for (most likely until they sell out of those flavors).
Whole Foods has got a sale on Earth’s Best 2nd stage jars at 0.79 cents/jar; if you have the $1 off 7 jars coupon (those were available at Ralph’s for a while; you can also get them in the various baby magazines: see my previous post). That’s 0.64 cents/jar; not a bad deal for Earth’s Best.
You can use the following codes (#935248) $5 off Pampers value boxes of diapers and (#935245) $2 off Pampers value boxes of wipes, good on online orders. This offer is good until March 19, 2010.
Although they did very well with one of my daughter’s very messy poops, I think I will have to reserve my review until I try the original Cruisers. See my previous post about this.
My daughter has been using Pampers Swaddlers (she’s now wearing size 2-3). I love Swaddlers. I baby her, and when I was deciding what diaper to buy after she outgrew Swaddlers size 2, I just felt like Cruisers were a little rougher than Swaddlers. So, I didn’t introduce Cruisers yet (until this sample). I did however buy Pampers Baby Dry, for whatever reason, and she is using those now. I have to say that Baby Dry have a bit of a rough feel to them as well, so I will likely be buying Cruisers next; or I may just stick to Swaddlers until she completely outgrows them.
My daughter has a cold, stuffy nose, cough, and all. I feel for her. She’s had it for a good 4 days now. As long as it doesn’t get as bad as it did last month, we should be okay. She got a nasty cold, that eventually brought on an ear infection. Poor, poor baby.
That’s the thing about LA weather, although it may be mild, it changes much too suddenly; we’ve gone from hard rain and cool to sunny and very warm in no-time (within a day) in the past few weeks. My husband and myself were sick as well.
I’ve found that a humidifier helps my little angel breathe and sleep better at night. We’re using the Crane Cool Mist Humidifier (we have the cow) it’s very cute and it does the trick. We bought ours at Babies R Us, I had a 25% off coupon at the time, so it wasn’t a bad price.
If you live in or near Sherman Oaks, California (or if you know any moms who do) and would like to participate in a paid focus group, you must first pre-qualify beased on the criteria outlined below; please leave a comment to this blog post containing your email address. I will send you an email with the telephone number and contact name of the individual to call in order to determine your eligibility to participate.
You have to be a mom who has purchased (or received as a gift) one of the following strollers: Bug-a-boo; Uppababy; Orbit; Perego; Macclaren; Phil & Ted; Musty; Stokke. The discussion will be about the different features of the strollers and what the moms would like to see added. The moms will be paid $125 for participating in this 2 hour focus group.
I just received my free sample of the new Pampers Cruisers with DRY MAX. (See my previous post about this.)
I’ll try them out on my daughter and write a review.
